Tega Cay, S.C. – March 25, 2015 – The Carolina Show Ski Team (CSST) was recently awarded Parks and Recreation Development Fund (PARD) dollars by the South Carolina Department of Parks, Recreation, and Tourism (SCPRT). In cooperation with the City of Tega Cay, CSST has begun planning an improved walking path in Windjammer Beach Park overlooking Lake Wylie.
This project will be CSST’s second major contribution to the City of Tega Cay for the benefit of the public in the past year. The walking path improvements at Windjammer Beach Park will enable more community members to access a greater area of the park, including the $35,000, 20-foot-by-40-foot floating platform donated by CSST in 2014. While the exact scope of the PARD project is still being determined, CSST also hopes to incorporate additional built-in seating along the shoreline.
To be considered for a PARD grant award, the Carolina Show Ski Team submitted a proposed project plan for permanent improvements to public park and recreation facilities. The plan was reviewed and endorsed by city officials before being considered by SCPRT.
You can enjoy the park improvements by attending one of CSST’s free water ski shows, which start in June on Fridays at 7pm. For more about the team and to view their schedule, visit CarolinaShowSki.com.
The public is also welcomed to attend Tega Cay’s Spring Pick-Me-Up event when the team plans to begin the earliest phases of their PARD project. For more information on volunteering with general park cleanup efforts, visit TegaCaySC.org/1342/Spring-Pick-Me-Up.
